PyGTK 1.99.16 has been proven to be pretty stable, Yet, the latest version in
the stable tree is 1.99.13, which seems pretty odd to me as that has a lot more
dependencies (like libglade f.e.)..

well actually they are all unstable (1.99.* ) , but yes i suppose we could go for it.
