Perusing the ipv6 doc on g.o/doc/en/ipv6.xml, it only mentions in passing "if ipv6 wasnt in your use flags before..." under 3.ipv6 support in applications. the editing of the USE flag should be the first thing user does, rather than having to remeber to type it in at the command line each time. something to the effect after code listing 1.1: "After emerging new kernel source, add ipv6 to your USE flags in /etc/make.conf therefore all subsequent emerging of packages have ipv6 support compiled in." Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 15522 [details, diff] Small updates to doc Attached is a small patch that does two things: 1) Add a comment before chapter 2 to mention adding "ipv6" to your USE variables. 2) Fix to the sample dhcp6s.conf file. This *definitely* should be applied, as this included config won't work for most people. thanks all!
