On kde 4 series, kmail crashes X when i start it while kde effects are enabled. X starts using 100%, and killing kde/xinit seems to leave graphics damaged. nvidia might well be part of the problem, same happens with all versions of kde-4.x and nvidia drivers i tried. Well what should kde team do about it. It is clearly some nice driver issue. So state your emerge --info and any more relevant informations you think we should know
