I don't think there is a more clear way to describe the problem as subject. I'm running on 2.6.28-gentoo. 00:07.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP67 High Definition Audio (rev a1) It is extremely annoying; I am able to stop the issue using alsamixer making the front channel going down and up in volume. If someone is really interested in what sounds, I could make an analogue recording of the actual sound, but I expect a buffer is not properly reset. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
More information will be required before the kernel/ALSA teams can take a look at this bug: - what codec is attached to said MCP67 HDA controller (/proc/asound/card0/codec#0) - emerge --info - the analog recording, please attach it in .wav format

Created attachment 179772 [details] Analysis of play/stop of sound Do a spectrum analysis between the last two breaks, there is the bug most clear. Was recorded as: - PC to Receiver - Headphone receiver to OLPC Mic-In (working on battery)
Everything is present :) Flac can be extracted in the usual way. Bugsize file limit is too small.
What is the status of this with an updated system and a newer kernel?
