Description Dmitry Petrov 2009-01-22 21:36:21 UTC
When I emerge openssh-5.1p1-r1 it doesn't merges with QA messages about runtime failure. This errors caused not by openssh itself but by x509 patch.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. USE=X509 emerge =openssh-5.1_p1-r1
Actual Results:
 * QA Notice: Package has poor programming practices which may compile
 * fine but exhibit random runtime failures.
 * dns.c:266: warning: implicit declaration of function 'uuencode'
 * auth2-pubkey.c:197: warning: implicit declaration of function 'strsep'

 *
 * QA Notice: Package has poor programming practices which may compile
 * but will almost certainly crash on 64bit architectures.
 *
 * Function `strsep' implicitly converted to pointer at auth2-pubkey.c:197

Expected Results:
I expected openssh to emerge successfully, but it failed because of x509 patch

QA Notices do not normally halt a merge.

Please provide emerge --info, the build.log, and the failing call stack.

missing #include directives added

Added
#include "uuencode.h" to dns.c
and
#include <string.h> to auth2-pubkey.c

The patch should have a path appropriate to the build directory structure. And your `emerge --info' is still missing as well as the build log.

> QA Notices do not normally halt a merge.

Yes. That was my fault. I've discovered that I switched to "developer" profile last year. That time I thought it means "software developer", not "Gentoo developer".

Anyway implicit function declarations are definently bad.

I'll provide emerge --info and build.log as soon as I get to my computer.
