Description Jörg Spanke 2009-01-22 20:03:44 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #246355 +++

kdm fails to start right on. after i'm logged in i'm able to start it with /etc/init.d/xdm restart. it used to work.

The ewarning in the ebuild for kdm-4.1.4 was not updated. Therefore the grep didn't work anymore.
In addition I would like to add to the warning the section of kdmrc, because in my kdmrc there was not entry with ServerTimeout and it took me some time to find where it belongs to.

[X-*-Core]
ServerTimeout=80

Just a guess, but if you are using app-i18n/uim recompile uim without the qt4 use flag (i.e. -qt4). Skim should still work and kde4 should start. That is unless your problem is something else....

Sorry, but I don't use app-i18n/uim.
The problem is solved for me now, but the ewarn in the ebuild uses the wrong version number. I addition I would like to get the ewarn in the ebuild enhanced for people like me, which didn't have an entry of ServerTimeout in their kdmrc.

Try 4.3.3, and reopen if it's still an issue.
