Description Todd Partridge 2009-01-16 18:55:36 UTC
In order for zim to have a tray icon dev-perl/gtk2-trayicon needs to be installed. Not needed to run zim but most people use the tray icon, a -trayicon USE flag would be nice.

Reproducible: Always

Hm, trayicon USE flag is still in metadata.xml; the obsoleted version 0.23 supported it. Assigning to maintainers who can take a look at re-introducing this flag.

Sorry, trayicon flag is not in metadata.xml anymore -- I needed to do 'cvs update'. But you guys can still think about bringing it back since a user is missing it :)
Comment 3 Todd Partridge 2009-01-16 19:50:52 UTC
A user??? Definitely I not the only guy using zim. :)

Also, I noticed thatzim has a new URL:

HOMEPAGE="http://zim-wiki.org/"
SRC_URI="http://www.zim-wiki.org/downloads/${MY_P}.tar.gz"

The upstream changelog for 0.25 mentions:

Fixed bug that prevented using Gtk2::StatusIcon this means we can drop dependency on Gtk2::TrayIcon for gtk+ >= 2.10

Consequently, in our bug 226143 the dependency and useflag were dropped. So I'm closing this as invalid. If the above information is incorrect, please feel free to reopen.
