Description Audiodef 2009-01-16 17:59:43 UTC
Xorg-server restarts occasionally, causing user to logout and all running apps to close, and changing to a lower resolution, when run on a machine that shares video and input with another computer via a KVM switch. No error messages appear in logs.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install xorg-server-1.5.3-r1 on a computer connected to a KVM
2. Switch back and forth until this happens

Actual Results:
Xorg-server restarts at some point, causing user to logout and all running apps to close, and changing to a lower resolution.

Expected Results:
Xorg-server should not restart because a KVM switch is used.

You'll have to help us a bit here, this is unfortunately quite an unusual setup.

Please read http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml and try to get a backtrace of gdb when it crashes. It'll help us figure out which part of Xorg to blame.

Thanks
