In the "Gentoo Samba3/CUPS HOWTO" (see http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/quick-samba-howto.xml ):
section 3 "Server Software Installation" -> subsection "Emerging foomatic":

Emerging foomatic

Code Listing 3.2: Emerge foomatic
# emerge net-print/foomatic
[End quote]

This is incorrect as the package "net-print/foomatic" no longer exists in the portage tree. Possible fixes might include:
"#emerge net-print/foomatic-db"
OR
add the "ppds" use-flag to cups... (Does that achieve the same effect? Is foomatic-db needed if cups pulls in foomatic-db-ppds?)
