Description Norberto Bensa 2009-01-09 19:11:36 UTC
I've tried amarok and kaffeine (kde3); downgrading to xine-lib-1.1.15-r1 fixes the problem.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Alexis Ballier gentoo-dev 2009-01-14 08:57:12 UTC
???

please describe the problem and upload somewhere a file that is "skipped" (what does this mean?) and reopen with more info
Comment 2 Norberto Bensa 2009-01-14 12:50:03 UTC
Yeah. I'm sorry.

By "skips" I meant that files start playing for example at 20sec offset or 40sec offset (depends on the file)

I'll see if I can setup an apache server here. It will be slow, but I don't have accounts anywhere else.

Thanks.

kaffeine appears to be fine here, same as xine-ui so you'll have to attach a faulty flac/mp3 file.

For me every file is broken (some of files work when I listen to them for a first time after upgrading to the broken xine-lib version).

I have the same bug. I can attach a flac file if you want, but obviously is quite big (54MB).

As a workaround I deleted /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.26/xineplug_decode_ff.so . It seems xine-lib doesn't use libFLAC even when it's built with flac useflag, but uses ffmpeg instead (which causes problems).

Should be fixed in 1.1.18, please test.

I've just tried 1.1.18.1 with amarok-1.4.10_p20090130-r3 (from kde-sunset):
don't know is flac bug still exists because amarok fail to start with this
xine-lib - it crashes with this error:

QObject::connect: Incompatible sender/receiver arguments
        StarManager::ratingsColorsChanged() --> ContextBrowser::ratingOrScoreOrLabelsChanged(const QString&)
kio_file: ERROR: Header read failed, errno=104
kio_file: ERROR: Header has invalid size (-1)

kde-sunset is not supported, and therefore any amarok-1.4 related bugs are ignored, sorry.

report back if you have issues with amarok-2 or something maintained.
