As I'm doing a complete revision of the German portage manual I see also a need of updating the English portage manual. Vapier said he will do the changes, so he is in Cc. A lot of <path> are missing surrounding files and pathes. Add short captions to the <pre>s. Also add # <i>command</i> to commands. The Option CURRENTFILE is described by ??? (three quotation marks) -- is it still valid? CVS is only accesable by SSH and not RSH. Add a comment for setting another (local) rsync-mirror instead of rsync://cvs.gentoo.org/gentoo-x86-portage Add a comment about mirrorselect in the section Mirrors. Add a comment about other mirrors when downloading a snapshot. Update the behaviour of emerge --verbose (like the use with --verbose --pretend for showing the package related USE-Varibles). Add etcat to the list of gentoolkit commands
