Bug 254219 – sys-apps/diffutils-2.8.7-r2 has RDEPEND containing sys-apps/man-pages

RDEPEND="userland_GNU? ( >=sys-apps/man-pages-2.46 )"

Why is that? I couldn't imagine of any reason for
diffutils to runtime-depend on man-pages...

changelog seems clear to me ... Bug 177676

as for whether it's still relevant, probably not.  feel free to drop if you care.

I simply don't see how the RDEPEND on man-pages could have
fixed bug 177676 :) Bug 177676 seems to complain about...
- diffutils not installing diff manpage
- newer man-pages versions not installing the GNU version
  of the diff manpage anymore
...both resulting in no diff manpage installed at all.
So, how could depending on >=man-pages-2.46 have fixed
that problem? The man-pages ChangeLog doesn't say anything
about "we now include the diff manpage from diffutils"
or anything related.

In fact, diffutils now contains the diff manpage, so I don't
see a reason to depend on man-pages anymore. No?

Probably the man-pages dependency was from the time when man-pages
contained the diff manpage?
