Description Wojciech Milkowski 2003-07-28 03:56:52 UTC
After emerge GTK+ in version 2.2.2 or later, gmplayer (mplayer-0.90-r3) does'nt
work properly. Under GNOME 2.2 it seems that MetaCity crashes and gmplayer hang
up. When I emerged GTK+ 2.2.1 everything was solved.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge gtk+-2.2.2 or gtk+-2.2.2-r1
2. emerge mplayer
3. run gmplayer

Actual Results:
MetaCity crashes and gmplayer hangs up.

Expected Results:
Should work properly.

I just compiled mplayer-0.90-r3 against gtk+-2.2.2-r1 and cant see any crashes on launch, metacity seems to be behaving as normal as well. please post your 'emerge info'. mplayer unsets your CFLAGS and autodetects them (or tries to) so this shouldnt be a case of overly aggressive CFLAGS.

Comment 3 Wojciech Milkowski 2003-08-03 11:47:08 UTC
It seems that it was false alarm. When I erased old ".mplayer" config directory and started it again, everything went OK. So the solution is to recereate configs from scratch.
Comment 4 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-08-09 04:50:28 UTC
im led to believe that this occurs under gmplayer-0.90-r4, compiled with USE="gtk2" and with gtk-2.2.2-r1 (does for me).
Comment 5 Matthew Eaton 2003-08-22 19:12:54 UTC
USE "gtk2" also breaks the right-click menu. Right-clicking doesn't bring it up, making the gui less than usable.
Comment 6 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-17 03:59:56 UTC
please try the latest gtk+ which is 2.2.4-r1.
Comment 7 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-12 09:43:42 UTC
we assume the crashing got fixed.
