been there for a while, no bug, will be needed for tl2008.
ppc64 stable
Stable for HPPA.
Nixnut already marked this ppc stable for bug #240646 and Maekke already marked it stable on amd64/x86 for the same bug.

(In reply to comment #4) > ! LaTeX Error: File `ucs.sty' not found. do you have latex-unicode or texlive-latexrecommended installed ? which version?

LaTeX Error: File `ucs.sty' not found. > > do you have latex-unicode or texlive-latexrecommended installed ? which > version? well... it was moved to tl-latexextra for tl 2008, I suppose that's what you were using; I knew it but somehow forgot to update the deps; it should be fixed now
Sparc stable. As best as I can tell, it works. At least the examples seem to generate the same pdf files as those supplied with the examples. (I did not carefully examine the Greek output and I don't read Greek except for the alphabet).
alpha/ia64 stable
I do too have the ucs.sty problem and I can't install texlive-latexextra-2008-r1 as I get "[Errno 7] Argument list too long:" from wget (version 1.11.4).
Definitely something wrong with the ebuild. Fetching the files first (-f) and then install it, made the ebuild works.

(In reply to comment #12) > and this only for unicode support? No, texlive-latexextra is sufficient. (Yes, I know that this is a stable request bug. However, it’s ranking quite high when googling for “gentoo ucs” or the like, and I guess there will be some users coming here looking for a solution. Sorry for the spam.)
