I'm using the stage3 packages from: http://dev.gentoo.org/~redhatter/mips/cobalt/ After having set up the system no ACCEPT_KEYWORDS entry is in /etc/make.conf but "portageq envvar ACCEPT_KEYWORDS" is giving out "mips ~mips" so even unstable packages will be merged. One must enter ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="-* mips" in /etc/make.conf to prevent installation of unstable packages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge a package. Accidently unstable packages will be merged as this is supposed to be the default. 2. 3. Actual Results: emerge is installing unstable packages by default (!). After inserting ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="-* mips" everything works fine. Expected Results: emerge should only install stable packages like the Gentoo standard supposes to do so. I'd believe it's expected behaviour since mips is an experimental arch in gentoo. But i'm not sure.
Indeed, this is expected behavior. The mips port has been in "experimental" status for some time now, and has everything marked ~mips. The profile defaults to ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="mips ~mips".
