Description Dustin Polke 2009-01-06 09:36:49 UTC
After I upgraded some packages on my system

Sun Jan  4 16:48:14 2009 >>> sys-devel/autoconf-wrapper-6
Sun Jan  4 16:48:55 2009 >>> sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.27-r2
Sun Jan  4 17:06:31 2009 >>> sys-devel/autoconf-2.63
Sun Jan  4 17:08:05 2009 >>> dev-libs/apr-1.3.3

and afterwards running revdep-rebuild, some broken packages were re-emerged amongst them openoffice

Sun Jan  4 17:08:58 2009 >>> app-arch/sharutils-4.7
Sun Jan  4 17:09:42 2009 >>> dev-libs/apr-util-1.3.4
Sun Jan  4 17:11:07 2009 >>> dev-dotnet/glade-sharp-2.10.0
Sun Jan  4 17:11:43 2009 >>> dev-dotnet/gconf-sharp-2.16.0
Sun Jan  4 21:40:40 2009 >>> app-office/openoffice-3.0.0

But since now, revdep-rebuild always wants to rebuild openoffice because the link to libjawt.so is broken in /usr/lib64/openoffice/basis3.0/program/libofficebean.so

 # ldd /usr/lib64/openoffice/basis3.0/program/libofficebean.so
ldd: warning: you do not have execution permission for `/usr/lib64/openoffice/basis3.0/program/libofficebean.so'
        linux-vdso.so.1 =>  (0x00007fffdd9ff000)
        libjawt.so => not found
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00007f3fd5476000)
        /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007f3fd59df000)

The library does exist on my system
 # locate libjawt.so
/usr/openv/java/jre/lib/i386/libjawt.so
/opt/sun-jdk-1.5.0.17/jre/lib/amd64/libjawt.so
/opt/sun-jdk-1.6.0.11/jre/lib/amd64/libjawt.so

However, it seems that it is linked not against any of them.

Can't reproduce on x86, so asking java-herd if that's some configuration problem
Comment 2 Serkan Kaba (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-01-07 19:58:34 UTC
Mine is linked against blackdown-jdk-1.4. I suspect that it's either because that's in the $PATH or the following line should just use the $JAVA_HOME
echo "--with-jdk-home=$(java-config --jdk-home 2>/dev/null)" >> ${CONFFILE}

Comment 4 Dustin Polke 2009-01-08 23:54:39 UTC
For now, I put USE=-java into package.use to get rid of this.
If someone wants me to test something, please let me know, though compilation is enoyingly slow due to bug 253386 :(

BR,
Dustin
Comment 5 Dustin Polke 2009-04-16 14:06:56 UTC
Tried today again with USE=java since I needed to recompile due to icu update and now everything is okay.

For me this is WORKSFORME atm.

BR,
Dustin
