Description Bob Raitz 2009-01-05 07:29:05 UTC
When running autofs-5.0.4, konqueror becomes unresponsive when attempting to view files locally, or via NFS. As soon as a disk icon is clicked, konqueror locks and will go no further. Thunar appears unaffected, thank the goddess.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge net-fs/autofs-5.0.4
2. attempt to browse local or net files with konqueror
3. konqueror freezes, and will not show files. Konqueror must subsequently be closed using the "stay running" "Terminate" dialog box.

Actual Results:
Once rebooted and the new version of autofs starts, the problem begins. I discovered this after rebooting two machines for unrelated reasons. The third machine had not been rebooted, so it was unaffected. I downgraded to net-fs/autofs-5.0.3-r3, and the affected machines are now functional as before.

Expected Results:
I should have noticed no difference in the function of konqueror as a file manager.

This bug appears to happen on both x86 and x86_64.Since it was first noticed on this machine, I will post that emerge --info:

net-fs/autofs-5.0.4-r3 is now in the tree. I have high hopes that it solves your problem. Could you pleas try it out?
Comment 2 John M. Drescher 2009-04-27 13:43:33 UTC
net-fs/autofs-5.0.4-r2 solved this for me months ago.

I will later on today, and report back.

I have emerged autofs-5.0.4-r3 on two out of three, and so far, so good. The third one should be done in about twenty minutes. Somehow, I get the feeling it will work, too.

For now, I'd support closing the bug. If problems come back, I'll reopen.

Great, thanks for reporting back.
