The selection of even or odd pages to print should appear in the 'General' tab within the range of pages to print.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Print a document in Gnome (using evince, gedit, ...)

Actual Results:  
When you want to print only odd or even pages you have to go to the 'Page setup' tab and set it under 'Only print'.

Expected Results:  
I think this option should be with the 'Range' options of the pages to print ('General' tab).

Interesting suggestion, but this is definitely a request that should be made to upstream developers.

Please open a bug at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/ for the "Gtk+" product. The people who make these kinds of changes will be able to help you further.

KDE 3.5.10 works as expected.
