Description Christopher Byrne 2008-12-31 06:25:19 UTC
Avahi support does not work at all in xvnc-0.9.3 (the current stable) unless the "system-libvncserver" is also set. It does work in 0.9.6, but the semantics are changed: without the "system-libvncserver", x11vnc runs avahi-discover; with it, it links directly and calls it natively,

I've tried it both with and without system-libvncserver and x11vnc links to avahi directly in both cases. That it executes and externel avahi helper should only happen when it fails to find the avahi libraries and build time. please provide a build log and config.log.

Comment 5 Sven Wegener gentoo-dev 2009-01-07 16:33:40 UTC
Ah, ok, it looks like the built-in avahi support requires USE="threads"
Comment 6 Sven Wegener gentoo-dev 2009-04-17 19:07:53 UTC
It now prints a warning, when non-native avahi support has been enabled.
