ati driver reinstall fails
Comment 1 alex 2008-12-30 17:31:40 UTC
I've found several similar reports, the files mentioned there are missing. The initial install went fine yet reinstall of the very same version fails.

Comment 2 alex 2008-12-30 23:42:30 UTC
After studying the log for a while i came up with the following solution:
--
cd /usr/src/linux
make clean && make modules
emerge mesa
--
I don't know how things got screwed up though, the kernel didn't change.

Please post your `emerge --info' in a comment and attach the entire build log to this bug report.
Comment 4 alex 2009-01-03 07:53:59 UTC
I've reinstalled it several more times, yet the described behavior never repeated.
