Just read the page http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-amd64.xml?part=1&chap=2 Gentoo documentation tends to be very clear, but in this page I found a few not too clear statements: >, just in case you want to bring Gentoo to another PC than the one you are >currently installing Gentoo on. You may call me stupid, but for me this is not a clear statement. >Stage3 tarballs can be downloaded from releases/amd64/2008.0/stages/ on any of >the Official Gentoo Mirrors and are not provided on the LiveCD. The live CD can be used without network access, so the reader will wonder why the stage3 tarball in not on the CD. >Note: The CD will check for "no*" options before "do*" options, so I think better is something like "The BOOT PROCESS will..." >(either from-CD or online) I think the "-" should be a space character. Fixed. > >Stage3 tarballs can be downloaded from releases/amd64/2008.0/stages/ on any of >the Official Gentoo Mirrors and are not provided on the LiveCD. > The live CD can be used without network access, so the reader will wonder why > the stage3 tarball in not on the CD. No need; we don't need to talk about stage3 at all, since it's not important to those installers. The GLI is going away anyway, so this handbook is almost deprecated. > >Note: The CD will check for "no*" options before "do*" options, so > I think better is something like "The BOOT PROCESS will..." No need to really change this. It IS the CD that's doing the checking. > >(either from-CD or online) > I think the "-" should be a space character. Fixed. (GDP: No revbump needed for this tiny typo fix.)
