When I try to emerge sys-apps/util-linux-2.12, the download of util-linux-2.12.tar.gz fails. First several servers return 404: Not Found then finally emerge trys to connect to ftp://ftp.cwi.nl/pub/aeb/util-linux/util-linux-2.12.tar.gz and gives up after retrying several times. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open a command shell 2.set the ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" environment variable 3.type: emerge sys-apps/util-linux and press enter Actual Results: emerge runs, trying to download util-linux-2.12.tar.gz and eventually gives up with the message: !!! Couldn't download util-linux-2.12.tar.gz. Aborting. Expected Results: It should have downloaded all necessary files required for the ebuild and suceeded at that.
This is a really upstream error... Have you set GENTOO_MIRRORS in make.conf? This might be a viable workaround.
The following GENTOO_MIRRORS entry was set: GENTOO_MIRRORS=" http://212.219.56.162/sites/www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/ http://212.219.56.152/sites/www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/ http://194.83.57.3/sites/www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/" Removing it actually resolved the problem.
Great, thanks.
