Trying to go to the http://www.gentoo.org/doc/desktop.html page results in a 
page of garbage characters.  All other doc pages download fine.  Tested with 
both Mozilla 6 on Gentoo Linux as well as IE 5.5 on NT 4.0.

Is this still a problem?  It works fine for me with mozilla.

yep -- works fine now.  Not sure what happened, but looks like it's fixed.
