This is the ebuild. Suggested location is "app-cdr" or somewhere in the kernel stuff... (cdemu-0.5.2.ebuild,851 bytes, text/plain)

Description Radek Podgorny 2003-07-25 15:06:37 UTC
Hi,

this is just a next version of "virtualcd" (already in portage) but since the
project was renamed, I'm submitting this under the new name. It makes virtualcd
obsolete but it does not interfere...

Some tweaking may be necessary. For ex. moving the Python script somewhere else,
solve the versioning (it's the alpha version), etc.

Hope I've created a good base anyway...
Radek

Oh, I forgot... It's marked unstable and so should be the original virtualcd ebuild since it's causing kernel freezes often (not sure about the new one)...

on the project ;)

and yes, it is pretty alphaish

:-) I wish I could help but after looking at the source, I'm affraid it's too "low-level" for me...

This would be real off-topic but can you, please, give me some tips how to begin with kernel hacking? I know C (and C++) quite well but I have absolutely no idea what functions and structures to use... :-(
