Description Brad Laue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-25 10:19:29 UTC
kdemultimedia-3.1.2-r1 causes an intermittent crash of KDE when clicking a movie
file and launching it in an associated player. This issue becomes acute and
happens more often when the associated player is a KDE component, such as noatun.

.xsession-errors is filled with binary data, so no useful output is provided.

An optionalization of xine with a USE flag would be nice, until this becomes
more than a corner case.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
Open a directory full of movie file formats, select one and launch it using an
associated player.
Actual Results:
KDE crashes, sending the user back to kdm or the prompt.

Expected Results:
Shouldn't crash ;)

Apparently I was able to crash X under other conditions by the same method. Not KDE's fault.
