Sync'd and upgraded to portage 48-r6.  Prior to the upgrade,
emerge -p world would indicate xft was blocked by xfree.  Not 
sure what else you might need.


# emerge -vup world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies ...done!
