Description Mike Hammill 2008-12-26 12:02:40 UTC
I have a working sys-apps/hal-0.5.11-r1 with 2.6.26-gentoo-r4. I upgrade to 2.6.27-gentoo-r7. When rebuilding hal against this latter kernel it fails to build with message:

dodoc: /var/tmp/portage/sys-apps/hal-0.5.11-r1/work/hal-0.5.11-config-examples/*.fdi does not exist

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Described above.

Actual Results:
Does not rebuild

Expected Results:
Hal compiled against newest stable x86 kernel

Closest bugs I found were bug #151647 and bug #230771, but since it doesn't build this it doesn't seem like an "enhancement" or "min" severity. Also different problem perhaps.

Last bit of build:

make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/sys-apps/hal-0.5.11-r1/work/hal-0.5.11'
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/sys-apps/hal-0.5.11-r1/work/hal-0.5.11'
dodoc: /var/tmp/portage/sys-apps/hal-0.5.11-r1/work/hal-0.5.11-config-examples/*.fdi does not exist
 *
 * ERROR: sys-apps/hal-0.5.11-r1 failed.
 * Call stack:
 *               ebuild.sh, line   49:  Called src_install

 * The specific snippet of code:
 *           dodoc "${WORKDIR}/${P}-config-examples/"*.fdi || die "dodoc X examples failed";
 *  The die message:

This bug is unrelated to kernel and is already fixed in hal-0.5.11-r4.
'${P}-config-examples' should be replaced with '${PN}-config-examples'.
The fix should be backported to hal-0.5.11-r1.
