just copying the 1.3.16 ebuild worked fine for me.

hm, this happened already with earlier versions of the dev gimp:

emerge seemsto work fine but when I start gimp-1.3 I always get an error like

gimp-1.3: error while loading shared libraries: libgimpbase-1.3.so.16: cannot op en shared object file: No such file or directory


with gimp-1.3.16 it could not find libgimpbase-1.3.so.15 ... and so on

looks like during the emerge gimp gets linked to the old lib that is in /usr/lib but then the old lib gets removed of course and peng!

now, unmerging first and then emerging works around this but I never think of that in the first run

Emerged 1.3.17 on Sparc and it works fine.

System: Sun Ultra5, 333MHz, 512 MB RAM.
CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS: -pipe -O3 -mcpu=ultrasparc -mtune=ultrasparc -fomit-frame-pointer

GCC 3.2.1.
