On my slower machines, it is infuriating to see all of the build time being
spend on man pages. I do not even program perl, why do I need these?

Please add a doc use flag to turn on and off the man craziness.. Thanks..

i'm actuually going to check on this - my understanding is that the doc use flags have nothing to do with the documentation that is shipped with the package. doc use flags are for additional docs we generate...but i could be wrong.

Comment 4 John Davis (zhen) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-11-05 23:04:56 UTC
this is not really my place - since you all handle perl, I will leave your
ebuilds up to you :)

IUSE="berkdb doc gdbm threads"

Looks like it was added in quite some time ago - this is from perl-5.8.0-r10. Probably a bugzilla puke.
