This is wrong because there is not only a single Japanese/etc font available. IMO, applications should simply assume you have the fonts you need. Otherwise, virtuals could be created.

Font in problem for me is linguas_ja? ( >=media-fonts/kochi-substitute-20030809-r3 )

I have a Free Japanese font (kochi substitute is not Free)

I agree, people should choose for themselves, so I've removed those dependencies now. Closing
