Made the plunge and installed Amarok2 a couple of days ago. Tried starting it but always get an error followed by a boom. Don't think my system has anything out of the ordinary - just a standard install with maybe a few superfluous use flags. I've tried : 1. blowing away the amarok folder from withing ~/.kde4/... 2. dropping the old mysql database used in previous version of Amarok 3. moving .kde4 to a backup and starting from scratch 4. rebuilding dbus as suggested by a poster to gentoo forums. None made any difference. Amarok-2.0.2 has been put in the tree and new mysql versions build a shared libmysqld, so hopefully this is fixed - reopen if you still get the same error.
