It seems to compile fine up to some point where it hangs and starts filling the memory. I have 1gb of RAM and 2gb of swap, it filled all the 3gb available. dev-lang/mono-1.9.1 compiles just fine. The weird thing is that it only happends on my P4, on my Athlon XP it compiles just fine. The only difference between those two computers of mine is the make.conf.

I run into the same problem a few minutes ago. You need to remove the the old Mono Version first then the new compiles fine. emerge -C mono && emerge mono
It worked, thx for the hint.
