I could not emerge media-fonts/font-sony-misc-1.0.0 until I downloaded it from 

http://ftp.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/GENTOO/distfiles/

I solved it by removing the adelie server from /etc/make.conf. It was a second entry I can't remember placing it there...
