Server is Co-located at unitedcolo.com, located in Tampa Florida. box is a celery 1.7ghz with 512 megs of ram and a wd800jb disk. Host: underthemain.net IP: 66.111.49.80 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Can you confirm the bandwidth available to the server, along with the minimum user connection limit? Thanks.
10 users max, i have it rate limited to 300KB/sec because it could cost me a LOT of money if i go over my bandwidth limit for the month :x not sure of what connection it uses, but i rsynced the entire /gentoo/ directory from ibiblio.org and it went at a solid 1mb/sec the whole time
Unfortunately, the bandwidth requirements (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/rsync.xml) are for 15 users and 5Mbps full duplex. Is this via DSL or cable modem?
This is neither cable or DSL, but a dedicated server at a dedicated hosting company. also, "solid 1mb/sec" meant one megabyte not bit, which would be a 10mbps connection to the routers at the ISP. connection limit is at 15.
I've added 66.111.49.80 to the access list for rsync1.us.gentoo.org. Please update your rsync cron jobs to point to rsync1.us.gentoo.org and post back here when you've done so. We'll monitor the server for a couple days to make sure things are working fine. Thanks.
When you get a chance, update the cronjob to sync with rsync1.us. After you reply here confirming that you are syncing with rsync1.us, I'll begin monitoring the server. Thanks.
I've been rsyncin against rsync1.us since the 29th
This server is now rsync25.us.gentoo.org. Please update the motd file to include that information. I've subscribed <sweede@insightbb.com> to our gentoo-mirrors mailing list (low volume). This list is used to discuss mirror-related issues. Thanks for supporting Gentoo.
