Ok I frae this is a real hack. I messed around with this card quite a while. Without deviljelly I still would... I expect this to be not-so-very-compatible with some kernels so testers are most welcome. I hope we manage to get these cheap wlan-adapters up and running with gentoo. Created attachment 14882 [details] Ebuild in a tarball Ebuild, patch and script in a tarball. Ok, uploaded. I'm tired, overworked and need a drink. If there are any errors (I s'pose so) let me know, I'll fix them... *yawn* later. Cheers, Marc.
Created attachment 14883 [details] corrected tarball upped the wrong tarball...
Please leave this one open for a while. I have probs with the new release and the old zip-files are no longer available for download. I already mailed to the company and politely asked for support and offered my help in testing and stuff. We'll see. If anyone needs the old sources mail me, I have some of them.
Is a newer version of the ebuild available, too? The driver now has the version string 1.4 and the older files ain't on the servers any more... If there's really no other solution, I'll try to modify your old ebuild. But I can't promise anything...
Yes, please feel free to write a new ebuild. I don't have much time at the moment. Luckily the folks at realtek don't force us to think about solving a "braces in filenames" - problem anymore (Just if you like to have a look at it go ahead and try to fetch a file with "(blablah)" in it's name. Wget won't like it). If there are any problems send a mail. BTW: I still have my rtl8180 card though I switched to a prism2 for some time now. So I can test a bit if you like. Cheers, Marc.
Well, I don't use the rtl-card anymore and lost track of the driver development. Closing this bug as WONTFIX because I wont pursue the issue any further. If there's a need for a rtl8180-ebuild someone should open a new bug. Cheers, Marc.
