What controller are these drives hooked up to (show lspci output for instance)?

Has this hardware ever behaved reliably with a linux install, if so what kernel were you using when it worked?

Also, it would be good to post dmesg output including the drives being detected

Is that sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.24-r5? (It's not in the portage tree any longer.) Could you try if you can reproduce the bug with a *current* kernel?

Looks pretty much as a hardware problem to me. COuld you verify that all of your components, especially mainboard (IDE controller), RAM and IDE cable are ok (maybe replace IDE cable with a new 80 conductor IDE cable ...)?

I beg your pardon for my disappearing...I have exam session >.<
I tried to change sata wires - no effect - got this bug again...

I attached dmesg as was asked before...

Please...Help me to indentify what hardware causes Kernel Panic.
And by the way..why does not PC reboot after Kernel Panic?
 I echo'ed 60 in /proc/sys/kernel/panic
