only fails if gst-plugins-base hasn't been updated first. when updating, portage will pull in gstreamer before gst-plugins-base so this might still be worth fixing. can you pull base in first, maybe some like test? ( ~media-libs/gst-plugins-base-0.10.21 ) in DEPEND for this version? if not, i guess this can be marked cantfix.
er, nm that won't work. gst-plugins-base will fail during configure: configure: Requested 'gstreamer-0.10 >= 0.10.20.1' but version of GStreamer is 0.10.20 configure: error: no gstreamer-0.10 >= 0.10.20.1 (GStreamer) found i actually can't find a way to make this work short of temporarily disabling tests for gstreamer-0.10.21, upgrading, and then re-enabling them after.
I'm completely unable to reproduce your problem here... all the 57 tests pass fine on my stable amd64 machine
Do you happen to have LD_LIBRARY_PATH set in your environment ?
i'm not setup to test this further right now, and it doesn't seem anyone else is complaining.

after upgrading gstreamer, on later rebuilds the testsuite passes no problem.

the fact remains that upgrading gstreamer with FEATURES=test is broken.
