I have a similar error, but not when it's trying to add ruby. here it breaks down when it's trying to add python. 'stfl.pyc' does not seem to exist. doing a 'USE="-python -ruby" emerge ... ' is working fine.
I managed to merge the package manually with one additional command. The problem is, that the command "python -c 'import stfl'" which is used to compile the stfl.py into the needed stfl.pyc is executed in the wrong directory. So the stfl.pyc is created there instead of in python/. These commands worked for me: ebuild /usr/portage/dev-libs/stfl/stfl-0.19.ebuild compile cd /var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/stfl-0.19/work/stfl-0.19/python/ python -c 'import stfl' ebuild /usr/portage/dev-libs/stfl/stfl-0.19.ebuild merge One better solution would be to add the command 'python -c 'import stfl' ' together with a 'cd python' in the ebuild. Haven't tried this yet, just an idea.
This is fixed for awhile..
