A look at http://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-doc-cvs/ shows how much spam we get every month. It skews the total commit percentages on a monthly and yearly basis: 1. http://archives.gentoo.org/stats/gentoo-doc-cvs-per-month.xml 2. http://archives.gentoo.org/stats/gentoo-doc-cvs-per-year.xml We'd like to get the same kind of filtering the other commits list gets. Perhaps a filter that only accepts messages from @gentoo.org addresses and/or the committer? Thanks! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Only the mails that come from lark should be accepted. List is very much one poster only even though from: appears to be the committer, source box is always lark.
While you're at it, it would also be nice to block everything sent to docs-team@gentoo.org which isn't bugzilla mail. We don't use it as a discussion alias anyway, we have gentoo-doc@ mailing list for that purpose. And in my Spam folder I can see that I get a new spam message to docs-team@ every 20 minutes or so. :-)

Dunno why you get so much, but you can cook up a similar recipe for the g-doc-cvs list, e.g. on subject && message-id Still, spam should not reach the list and/or the archives, which is what this bug is really about. BTW, the reply-to for the g-doc-cvs notifications is set to docs-team, not really useful if those are completely filtered out.

Occasionally the docs-team@ alias is used for internal discussions that don't need to happen on a list, and it's much much easier to mail the alias directly than list each name. I'll probably need to send an email to the alias very soon, so it'd be nice if it still works.
Why didn't anybody ask ages about about avoiding the spam on gentoo-doc-cvs? I've asked on multiple lists, several times, that when you see a spam, to report it to me. In this case, the spammers are forging the source address, so I'll use the technique that I use on the main CVS list to block them out. If you want to get the message-id of every spam, I can nuke them from the archives as well.
The generation and blocking side is done. I still need a list of all the old spams to remove them from the archive, please provide it. As a very nice side effect, the GDP commits are not truncated to gentoo-commits anymore :-).
docs: got a list of those spams for me to smite?
I think this is fixed. We have no spam. I haven't seen any in months: http://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-doc-cvs/date.xml Whatever you did, you did well, so this is FIXED with mad haxxx.
