I am unable to run Linux 2.6 on VirtualBox-bin. I tried several vbox versions (1.6.6, 2.0.4, 2.0.6) and Linux distros (Slackware, Gentoo, Ubuntu, Arch) - all without luck. I can run WindowsXP inside VBox without any problems. Everytime the boot process stops at: CPU0: AMD Phenom(tm) 9650 Quad-Core Processor stepping 03 SMP motherboard not detected And that's all, VM hangs. I don't mess with VirtualBox defaults for the VM, I only added some megs to the video mem. I tried to change some of the options but still no result. One more thing: while the VM is hanged, CPU usage of one of the cores is at 100%. There is no disk usage or anything. I wonder if this is Phenom-related bug.
