Description Rob Cakebread (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-19 17:50:46 UTC
Open Source version of the classic 3D shooter game Descent II. This package will
download the Descent II shareware levels and will play them by default. You can
also use Descent I shareware levels or any commercial version of Descent I or
II. It compiles with SDL, OpenGL, GGI or SVGA. OpenGL is best for 3D cards, SDL
gives suprisingly good performance with non-accelerated 3D cards.

Heh. Thats another reason I hope they open that ebuild tester forum.

Is it a good idea to include a level in the ebuild like I did?

you mean the data files ? yeah i'm doing the same ...

fyi you dont need ggi/opengl/svga support ... if they're disabled then sdl can
handle graphics just fine

ill show you when i finish testing the ebuild ;)

as for the ebuild testing forum, that'll be cool :)

ok i added it to cvs but with a diff src_compile() func ...

the reason is if you compile with more than 1 of (ggi, svga, opengl) support then
the functions all have the same name and thus do not link ...

check out the version in portage, it'll support sdl, ggi, svga, and opengl ... and
any combo of those (well you'll always have sdl ...)

thanks :)
