It's accessing files in the wrong places. An image of the binary package the ebuild would build would have these files: usr/bin/ev_calibrate usr/bin/calibrate.sh usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/evtouch_drv.so usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/ev_calibrate.debug usr/lib/debug/usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/evtouch_drv.so.debug usr/share/xf86-input-evtouch/empty_cursor.xbm usr/share/doc/xf86-input-evtouch-0.8.7/README.bz2 usr/share/doc/xf86-input-evtouch-0.8.7/ChangeLog.bz2 usr/share/doc/xf86-input-evtouch-0.8.7/README.calibration.bz2 usr/share/doc/xf86-input-evtouch-0.8.7/TODO.bz2 etc/udev/rules.d/69-touchscreen.rules while you have some files in /usr/local. I suggest you remove those and reopen this bug report if that still doesn't solve the issue.
true, sorry, that must have remained there from a previous ebuild of mine somehow. i removed that and it works now.
