tested on x86 stable against app-editors/gvim-7.2.ebuild bug #189160 has been open since Aug of 2007 but was fixed in the next version bump ebuild, yet nothing was ever marked stable so new 2008.0 stage3 builds will hit this if the user emerges gvim + perl-support In general, most vim/gvim users would know immediately how to fix the error and that is my theory on why this bug hasn't gotten more attention. adding Ali Polatel since I can't find any of the bugs he's been handling in relation to this problem (groked from Changlelog and bugzilla but still haven't been able to find the ebuild bug #s).
adding this as a blocker for #189160 so that, hopefully, it will get closed when this bug does.
Please don't CC developers if you can't assign bugs as well.
