I have noticed when using mpg123 mp3's are always skipping. Even using -b 2048 under no system load. Just doing simple tasks like changing workspaces can cause mp3's to skip. I looked into it and found mpg321 to be MUCH better. I have not been able to make it skip yet. My suggestion is to make mpg321 a virtual. The synatx is compatible with mpg123 and it installs a symlink from mpg123 -> mpg321, so any applications depending on mpg123 still work. Other distro's i use seem to have totally dropped mpg123 in favor of mpg321. Slackware being one of the distro's that have done it off the top of my head. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
This is already done. However, if mpg123 is installed the symlink is not created when mpg321 is installed.
