after upgrading phpmyadmin, the database list is empty. even after creating a new database, the list is empty.

there are databases. phpmyadmin-2* works fine.

try
CONFIG_PROTECT="/var/www/localhost/htdocs/phpmyadmin//libraries" etc-update
as portage tells you after the emerge
that solved it for me

I think there should be a ewarn at a certain point that can be logged, but there's none...  I'd prefer to see this fixed instead  of "resolved invalid" :-\
