Description Robert Wohlrab 2008-11-14 17:19:08 UTC
I checked the package for undefined reference and got undefined reference. For
testing purposes LDFLAGS in /etc/make.conf was changed to
 LDFLAGS="${LDFLAGS} -Wl,-z,-defs -Wl,--no-undefined"
The reported problem is in most cases a upstream problem - please report it
upstream if it is so. Please use the man page to find the needed library. For
example dlsym would need '-ldl' (libld.so) or cosf need '-lm' (libm.so).

Current results are following:

@Robert: If you file more of these bugs, then make them block bug #246757 so we can easily track them.
Comment 2 Rémi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-02-20 16:16:36 UTC
Mesa is not a traditional library and does some very clever (read: weird) linking magic for performance reasons.

Unless you check this with upstream to understand exactly why they are doing things this way, we won't change this. Mesa is too complex to be messed with :)

Thanks
