Description Marcello Magaldi 2008-11-13 11:10:20 UTC
orange-0.3.2 configure script fails to find libsynce >=0.9.1 even if app-pda/synce-libsynce-0.9.1 is merged , I tried also to re-emerge synce-libsynce but the error is the same. This is the error :
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... (cached) yes
checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-pkg-config... no
checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
checking for ld used by GCC... /usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld
checking if the linker (/usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld) is GNU ld... yes
checking for shared library run path origin... done
checking for LIBSYNCE... configure: error: Package requirements (libsynce >= 0.9.1) were not met:

No package 'libsynce' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables LIBSYNCE_CFLAGS
and LIBSYNCE_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

app-pda/synce-libsynce-0.9.1 install no libsynce.pc under /usr/lib/pkgconfig, it is a bug in app-pda/synce-libsynce-0.9.1
Comment 2 Matt Kynx 2008-11-18 14:57:08 UTC
Just ran into this problem with app-pda/synce-libsynce-0.9.1 also.

app-pda/synce-libsynce-0.12 seems to have fixed the issue - orange compiles fine after emerging that.
Comment 3 Iain Buchanan 2008-11-18 22:44:13 UTC
libsynce-0.9.1 is a very old version and not really supported upstream anymore.

mescalinum: can you add >=app-pda/synce-libsynce-0.12 to orange? I think that will close this bug.

thanks.
Comment 4 Federico Ferri (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-11-19 06:22:19 UTC
in CVS.

thanks
