Here is the ebuild script to build the free gerber file viewer program, gerbv. 
It uses gtk+ and glib, with optional support for png exports. 

I suggest dev-util/gerbv becuase it is primarily an engineering/development tool.

the gtk deps should be =<dep>* ,like this they will pull in gtk+-2 right now (and it most likely won't build against that).

the src_unpack part is unneeded

the SRC_URI should use sourceforge:// (see other sourceforge ebuilds)

does it need both gdk-pixbuf and libpng for png support ?

Fixed the issues relating to this e-build

Fixed the gtk deps

Removed the src_unpack part

Changed the SRC_URI to point to the sourceforge site

INSTALL doc indicates that gdk-pixbuf and libpng are both needed for png
support.

Removed a couple of unneeded items in the dodoc section

Fixed typo, changed (CHOST) to {CHOST} :)

Gerbv-0.15 is in app-sci since quite a while ago; so I'm closing this bug as FIXED...
