mirrorselect 0.5 when mirrorselect errors out it overwrites /etc/make.conf gentoo_mirrors line with the error. here is the output from mirrorselect -i Found 15 Mirrors: Error: Expected at least 7 tokens for --checklist, have 4. Use --help to list options. Updating /etc/make.conf Mirrors set successfully here is the resulting gentoo_mirrors= line from my /etc/make.conf GENTOO_MIRRORS="Error: Expected at least 7 tokens for --checklist, have 4. Use --help to list options." and OF COURSE - the mirrors link on gentoo.org is broken. i am not amused.
the mirrors link on the website which you are refering to is the cause of this breakage, as it is used as a dynamic source for mirrorselect. This situation has never arisen in the past, and should most likely do a sanity checxk on the mirrors to see if it managed to grab any. and if not then bail out gracefully. this will be included in mirrorselect-0.7, an should be released within the next week or so. in the mean-time the appropriate people have been notified of this page being broken. This error was not indented to amuse, or disgruntle people. and its most certainly recoverable.
