Does this fulfil any dependancies for executable packages in portage? Gentoo policy is to only add new perl modules when they fulfill a dependancy as we are not trying to duplicate the efforts of CPAN in any way - they do a good enough job without us :)

Not yet, but I am working on an ebuild that requires it.  Just getting the dependencies up first and then doing the real program.  Bug 24749 is also in this boat. You can just leave these alone if you want and I'll add a dependency on them when I get the progam finished.

Thanks for understanding :) Can you give me a hint of what the future dep will be? If I have something tangible to think about it'll make me feel better about adding your deps ahead of the bug/submission.

I am working on an ebuild for www.godatabase.org for app-sci.  It is a program that help functionally classify annotated gene sequence.  It will probably be a week or so before I finish it...
